Privacy policy

This page describes what happens to your resume, field by field. The short version: the only thing that ever leaves your browser is the prose you ask the AI to rewrite, and it travels without your name or contact details attached.

Uploaded files are not uploaded

When you drop a PDF, DOCX, or TXT file into the builder, it is read by code running inside your browser tab. The bytes are never sent anywhere. This part of the tool keeps working with your network disconnected, which is the simplest way to confirm the claim yourself.

Local drafts

While you edit, your draft is written to your browser's session storage so a refresh does not wipe your work. It stays on your device and is cleared when you close the tab or clear site data. No copy is kept anywhere else.

What the AI rewrite receives

Pressing Improve with AI sends three things to /api/rewrite: your summary text, your experience bullet points, and your skills list. That request is forwarded to Google's Gemini API to generate the rewrite.

These fields are removed in your browser before the request is sent, and are never transmitted:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your phone number
• Your location
• Employer names, job titles, and dates
• Schools, degrees, and graduation years

None of those are needed to improve a sentence, so none are sent. The rewritten prose comes back and is re-attached to your untouched local copy inside the browser. If you never press the button, no part of your resume leaves the tab at any point.

Logs and retention

We do not store resume text, and we do not build profiles from rewrite traffic. The hosting platform records standard request metadata such as timestamp, IP address, and user agent for abuse monitoring.

Requests run on Google's paid API tier, where Google states it does not use prompts or responses to improve its products and logs them only to detect abuse. Their unpaid tier reserves the right to train on submissions and have humans review them, and this site does not use it. Either way, the payload is stripped before it leaves your browser, which is the part that does not depend on anyone else's terms.

Analytics and cookies

This site sets no advertising cookies and loads no third-party trackers. Fonts are requested from Google Fonts, which means Google receives the request for those files. If privacy-friendly analytics are added later, this page will name the vendor and the opt-out path before they go live.

Your choices

• Clear site data in your browser to remove the stored draft.
• Skip the rewrite button and use import, scoring, and export with no network calls at all.
• Use the contact form on the about page for privacy questions.
