Privacy policy

This page explains what happens to your resume text when you use AI Resume Review. We keep collection narrow because the product is meant to run mostly in your browser.

Local drafts

While you edit, sections may be saved in your browser session storage so a refresh does not wipe your work. That data stays on your device until you clear site data or close the tab, depending on your browser.

AI rewrite requests

When you click Improve with AI, the app sends your current sections to /api/rewrite. If an OpenAI API key is configured on the server, that text is forwarded to OpenAI to generate suggestions. If no key is set—or the API is unreachable—the app runs a local rewrite on your device instead.

We do not build user profiles from rewrite traffic. Server logs may include standard request metadata (timestamp, IP, user agent) for abuse monitoring.

Analytics and cookies

The MVP does not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers. If we add privacy-friendly analytics later, this page will list the vendor and opt-out path.

Your choices

• Clear site data in your browser to remove stored drafts.
• Use print/export without calling the rewrite API.
